Keep your website secure, current and working
A business website is not finished at launch. WordPress core, themes and plugins release updates constantly; forms stop sending when an email setting changes; backups fail silently; and small content changes pile up. Without regular care, a good website slowly becomes a risk.
RATdeck provides website maintenance and support for US service businesses and growing companies, especially sites built on WordPress. Our Website Care plan is $299 per month, billed monthly, cancel anytime and covers routine maintenance with clear reporting, so you always know what was done.
What our website maintenance services include
- WordPress, theme and plugin updates: applied on a regular schedule, with a backup first and a check of key pages afterward.
- Backups and recovery checks: scheduled backups stored off the server and periodic confirmation that they can actually be restored.
- Security monitoring: review of administrator accounts, suspicious activity and vulnerable or abandoned plugins.
- Uptime and form checks: confirmation that the site is online and that contact and quote forms deliver to the right inbox.
- Small content updates: text, image and page changes, up to 1 hour per month.
- Performance review: periodic checks of page speed and caching so the site does not slow down over time.
- Google Business Profile upkeep: four posts per month, plus review replies drafted and posted with your OK.
- Monthly summary: a plain-language report of updates, issues found and recommended next steps.
The exact allowance, response times and exclusions are confirmed in your proposal.
What costs more
Maintenance is different from growth work. Local SEO campaigns, new pages or features, redesigns and emergency out-of-hours response are separate scopes. Across the wider market, maintenance plans commonly range from about $125 to $650 per month depending on site complexity and response requirements. We will tell you honestly if you do not need a plan at all.
If your site is slow today, start with a one-time WordPress speed optimization pass (from $950), then keep it healthy with Website Care.
Who maintenance is for
- Owners who do not have time to log in and update WordPress every week.
- Businesses whose website generates calls and quote requests, where downtime or a broken form costs money.
- Teams that inherited a site from a previous developer and are not sure what is installed.
- Agencies that want a reliable partner to maintain client sites in the background (see white-label services).
We can maintain sites we did not build. The first month usually includes an onboarding audit of hosting, backups, users and plugins.
The first month: onboarding
When we take over maintenance for an existing site, the first month focuses on understanding what is there before changing anything:
- Access and inventory: hosting, domain and DNS, WordPress users, theme, plugins and third-party services are listed, with owners noted.
- Backups: a fresh full backup is taken and stored off the server, and a restore is tested where the host allows it.
- Risk review: abandoned or unlicensed plugins, unused administrator accounts, outdated PHP versions and exposed files are flagged.
- Baseline: uptime, page speed and form delivery are checked so later changes can be compared.
- Plan: you receive a short list of recommended fixes, separated into items covered by the plan and optional one-time work.
Signs your website needs maintenance now
- WordPress shows pending updates that have not been applied for months.
- You are not sure when the last backup was taken, or where it is stored.
- Contact form messages sometimes never arrive.
- Nobody on your team knows all the administrator logins.
- Pages have become noticeably slower, or the site shows security warnings.
How support requests work
You send requests by email or through the agreed client workspace. We confirm the request, give an estimate if the task falls outside the plan, complete the work and note it in the monthly summary. Phone support Mon–Fri, 9 AM–2:30 PM Eastern, at +1 (737) 306-3068. Messages after that are answered by 9 AM Eastern the next business day.
Frequently asked questions
How much does website maintenance cost?
RATdeck Website Care is $299 per month, billed monthly, cancel anytime. What is included, and any exclusions, are confirmed in writing.
Can you maintain a website you did not build?
Yes. We start with an onboarding audit of the hosting, backups, user accounts, theme and plugins before taking responsibility for updates.
Is hosting included?
For sites RATdeck built, hosting is included in Website Care. For other sites, we maintain the site on your existing hosting and can recommend changes if it limits speed or reliability. Your domain is separate and stays in your name (about $12–20 a year).
What happens if an update breaks something?
Updates are applied after a backup. If an update causes a problem, we roll back or fix it and record the outcome in your monthly summary.
Can I cancel a monthly plan?
Yes. Website Care is billed monthly with no contract. Cancel anytime by email and we refund any unused time.
